For a 2nd year in a row, SkyRun Breckenridge is excited to sponsor a team for the International Snow Sculpture Championship! This is the 30th Anniversary of the contest and there are 16 international teams representing 12 different countries. SkyRun Breckenridge was honored to provide lodging to Team Argentina at Forest Haus 212. The championship challenges teams to carve a single 20-ton, 12-foot-tall by 12-foot wide block fo snow without the use of power tools, internal support structures or colorants.
Teams started carving Monday January 20 at 11am, and must be completed by Friday January 24 at 9am, which is when judging will begin. Mother Nature is being kind with blessed cold weather and light snow which gives the entire scene a whimsical feel as folks stroll through the RiverWalk parking lot to watch the tireless efforts and sculptures take shape.
Anna and Heidi, from SkyRun Breckenridge, greeted Team Argentina on January 22 to welcome them to Breckenridge and wish them luck. The 4-person team hails from warm and sunny Buenos Aires so they were cold and welcomed hot coffee and pastries. Team Argentina is very appreciative of the beautiful lodging and were very nice - please feel free to stop by and visit them! Heidi and Jes will be returning tomorrow evening to see the finished product.
Hi, I'm Mike and I live here in Breckenridge with my wife and kids and our dog, Tug. I love Breckenridge for all of the activities that it has to offer, the locals, and that there is always something going on thanks to all our visitors. I love skiing, hiking, and biking so feel free to ask me about my favorite area to explore. My wife and I started this business because we love interacting with your guests and owners. Getting to live here and meet people from all over the world that share our love of Breckenridge is an amazing experience.
